Biography

Horace Arthur Hart (SN 71) was born in Ballarat where he enlisted August 18th 1914. He was 25 years old, single and a builder. He was assigned to the 8th Infantry Battalion and embarked with the first Anzac fleet in October aboard the Benalla. He took part in the historic Gallipoli landing and during his service he was promoted to Corporal. He was killed in action during the attack on Krithia on May 8th 1915, has no known grave and his name is recorded on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli.
