Biography

Norman Woolcock (SN 1435) born in Ballarat, was an 18 year old moulder when he enlisted in Ballarat on July 8th 1915. On November 23rd he embarked aboard the Ceramic and sailed to Egypt. In June 1916 he joined the 1st Anzac Army Corps in France. He avoided significant harm during his service which saw him transferred to the 39th Infantry Battalion in October 1917 then to the 23rd Battalion in May 1918. He returned to Australia aboard the Rio Negro, disembarked at Melbourne on July 22nd 1919 and was discharged on September 13th.
