Eric Bird (SN 3251) was born at Alexandra. He was 19 years old, single and a telephonist in Ballarat when he enlisted on March 15th 1915, joining the 6th Field Ambulance. He was killed at Gallipoli when a bomb exploded nearby. Originally buried at Brown's Dip, he was later re-interred at Lone Pine Cemetery, Gallipoli.
