Biography

Albert Bruce Rogers was born in Beaufort, Victoria, was single and a Postal Employee when he enlisted from Ballarat in the April 1917 Reinforcements on 1 November 1916 at the age of 21. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board HMAT A72 Beltana on 16 June 1917. He attended Wireless School on 19 October 1917 before proceeding overseas to France in January 1918 where he was detached to the 3rd Squadron Australian Flying Corps and attached to the 2nd Aeroplane Supply Depot. He returned to Australia aboard the Kaiser-i-Hind on 16 June 1919, receiving his discharge a month later in July.
