Biography

Reginald Garfield Beriman Clark (SN 1993) was born in Ballarat and was a Butcher by trade when he enlisted in the 22nd Battalion, 3rd Reinforcement on July 17th 1915 at the age of 20. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A68 Anchises on August 26th 1915. His time in Egypt was marked by three charges of being absent without leave and one of 'being in town (Alexandria) without a pass'. While on active service in France he sustained a severe shrapnel wound to his shoulder and was evacuated to hospital in Sheffield, England. After the war he returned to Australia on the Trasos Montes, disembarking in Melbourne on May 22nd 1919.
