Reginald Garfield Beriman Clark (SN 1993) born in Ballarat, was a 20 year old butcher when he enlisted in Melbourne on July 17th 1915. Assigned to the 22nd Battalion he embarked from Melbourne aboard the Anchises on August 26th 1915. His time in Egypt was marked by three charges of being absent without leave and one of 'being in town (Alexandria) without a pass'. While on active service in France he sustained a severe shrapnel wound to his shoulder and was evacuated to hospital in Sheffield. After the war he returned to Australia on the Trasos Montes, disembarking in Melbourne on May 22nd 1919 and was discharged on July 15th.
