Biography

Born in Geelong, Victoria, Alfred Hillier was a single 18 year old theatrical employee at the time of his enlistment in Ballarat on the 7th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A32 Themistocles on the 28th of January 1916.
He returned to Australia on the 11th of October 1918 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 4th of December 1918 due to defective vision.
