Biography

Born in Durham Lead, Victoria, Arthur Alfred King was a single 18 year old moulder at the time of his enlistment in Ballarat on the 6th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A32 Themistocles on the 28th of January 1916.
On the 9th of August 1918, he was wounded in action and invalided to England on the 13th of August; Arthur was admitted to Fort Pitt Military Hospital, Chatham, Kent on the same date with a gunshot wound to his left wrist.
Arthur returned to Australia on the 23rd of June 1919 and discharged on the 15th of August 1919.
