Biography

Thomas Harold Sim (SN 488) born at Ballarat, was a married 24 year old dairyman when he enlisted in Melbourne on August 18th 1914 . He embarked aboard the Anglo-Egyptian on October 19th and sailed to Egypt assigned to the 4th Light Horse Regiment. Hearing difficulty led to him being returned to Australia aboard the Kyarra for specialist treatment. He disembarked at Melbourne on March 11th 1915 and was discharged on August 6th 1916 ‘medically unfit, deafness’.
