Biography


Herbert George Williams was a single 22 year old labourer from Ballarat when he enlisted on the 13th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on the 10th of November 1915.
On the 1st of October 1918 he was wounded in action with a gunshot wound to his right leg. He returned to duty on the 19th of November 1918. Herbert returned to Australia on the 14th of May 1919 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 6th of July 1919.
