Biography

Leslie Reynolds was born in Ballarat East, was single and employed was a Traveller when he enlisted in the 5th Battalion, 11th Reinforcement on 13 July 1915 at the age of 24. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A71 Nestor on 11 October 1915. In mid-August 1916 he was wounded in action, suffering a severe gunshot wound to the abdomen and upper right arm. He was admitted to the General Military Hospital in Colchester and eventually to the 4th London General Hospital before being able to attend to temporary duties with Headquarters on 11 June 1917. He eventually returned to Australia aboard the Nestor on 1 November 1919.
