Biography

John Field Marshall (SN 6014) was born in London, UK, but enlisted in Ballarat on July 9th 1915. The 21 year old, single clerk was allocated to the 2nd Field Artillery Brigade and embarked for active service in November on board the Wandilla. He reached France in March 1916 and later transferred to the Trench Mortar Battery. He was killed in action on 26th June 1916, and buried at Y Farm Military Cemetery, Bois Grenier, France.
