Neil Mitchell was born in Cardigan and enlisted from there on 23rd July 1915. He was 21 years of age, unmarried and a farmer. He was drafted into the 8th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 3112. Later he was promoted Corporal, arid transferred to 58th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action in the fighting for Lihons on 9th August 1918. He is buried in the Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, France.
