Born in Ballarat, Timothy Long was a single 38 year old labourer at the time of his enlistment on the 16th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A18 Wiltshire on the 7th of March 1916.
Timothy left England for return to Australia on the 4th of May 1917, and disembarked at Melbourne on the 5th of July 1917.
He was discharged as medically unfit on the 25th of August 1917 due to bronchitis.
