Arthur George Dell was born in London, England and was a Litho Printer by trade and at the age of 19,being single enlisted in Ballarat on 19 August 1914.His Unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board Transport A24 Benalla on 19 October 1914. He returned to Australia on 17/10/15 and went AWOL on 14/11/15 in Broadmeadows and re enlisted under the name of Arthur George Mercer 16 months later in Sydney on 24/3/17. He was later discharged on 4/9/17 from the A.I.F as medically unfit. Tree No. 124
