Biography

Harold Crowther (SN 327) was born in Huddersfield, England. He enlisted in Ballarat on August 19th 1914 as a 22 year old bill poster. He landed at Gallipoli with the 8th Infantry Battalion but during the fighting in September he was seriously wounded in the hand, leg, and face by a Turkish bomb. He was evacuated to Malta by the Hospital Ship Dunluce Castle but died on September 28th 1915. He was 23 years of age and is buried in the Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
