Biography


James William Jones was a single 20 year old blacksmith at the time of his enlistment on the 19th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A68 Anchises on the 26th of August 1915.
On the 24th of October 1915, James was wounded by shrapnel. It fractured the base of his skull, and he started to see less out of one eye.
On the 3rd of January 1916 he was invalided to Australia and returned to February 5th.
James was discharged on the 5th of April 1916 as medically unfit due to his wounds.
