Henry Morgan Jones (SN 81) born at Windermere, was a 36 year old farmer when he enlisted at Perth on September 15th 1916. He embarked aboard the Commonwealth on November 20th 1917 and sailed to Egypt. Assigned to the 1st Machine Gun Squadron his service there was limited by illness, and he was returned to Australia aboard the Wiltshire. He disembarked at Perth on September 24th 1918 and was discharged there on October 21st ‘medically unfit, diarrhoea’.
