Biography

James George Joseph Fraser was a permanent soldier. He was born in Ballarat, and enlisted from Annandale, NSW, on 23rd February 1916. He was 28 years old and married. He was posted to the 33rd Infantry Battalion with the rank of Lieutenant. He was wounded in action during the fighting around Messines on 9th April 1918. He died in the 2nd British Red Cross Hospital at Rauen and is buried in St Sever Cemetery at Rauen, France.
