Biography

Born in Ballarat, Edward Hawkins was a single 18 year old clerk when he enlisted on the 5th of December 1914. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A20 Hororata on the 17th of April 1915.
On the 18th of December 1917, he was promoted to Lance Corporal. On the 1st of August 1918, Edward was promoted to Staff Quarter Master Sergeant.
He returned to Australia on the 10th of September 1919 and was discharged on the 10th of October 1919.
