Biography

Patrick Duggan (SN617) born at Ballarat, was a 27 year od miner when he enlisted in Ballarat on March 22nd 1915. On May 8th he embarked aboard the Euripides and saw action at Gallipoli with the 24th Infantry Battalion. Back in Egypt he was transferred to the 58th Battalion for service in France. He avoided major injury or illness, but his record shows he was charged on several occasions for being absent without leave. He returned to Australia on the Lancashire and was discharged on March 31st 1919.
