William Charles Coxon enlisted in Green Hills, WA, on 5th July 1915. He had been born in Ballarat and was 40 years old, married and a journalist. He joined the 11th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 2804. He was declared Missing In Action at Pozieres.until a Court of Enquiry determined that he had in fact been killed in action on the 25th July 1916. His name is recorded on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
