Biography

Born in Daylesford, Victoria, Edward Hocking was a married 28 year old labourer when he enlisted in Ballarat on the 8th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board RMS Malwa on the 25th of July 1916.
On the 19th of September 1918, Edward was mentioned in despatches.
He returned to Australia on the 25th of April 1919 and was discharged as medically unfit on the 12th of July 1919 due to Sciatica.
