Donald Charles Overall from Havelock Street in Ballarat, joined the Royal Australian Navy on February 21st 1914, with the consent of his mother, Henrietta. It was six months later that the Great War commenced. He served on a number of RAN vessels, and in September 1919 was awarded a Good Conduct Badge. He was discharged from the Navy in September 1923.
