Fredrick John Stevens Trethowan was born on April 13th 1900, commenced his service with the Royal Australian Navy, on the HMAS Tingira, on August 4th 1915 as a Boy 2nd Class. He went on to serve on HMAS Cerberus, HMAS Brisbane, HMAS Australia, HMAS Huon and HMAS Penguin up to September 1920.
