James Francis Edgell enlisted in an unknown port on the 17th of May 1914. He had been born in Smeaton, Victoria. He volunteered and was posted to numerous different ships as a Leading Seaman including HMAS Australia with the Regimental number 1746. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 6th of October 1921. Tree number 1440.
