Norman Watterson (SN 706) Ballarat born, enlisted in the A.I.F. on July 9th 1915 as a 20 year old storeman. He had commenced training at Seymour when he was one of eight men urgently requisitioned for service with the Naval Reserve wireless services at Garden Island. He was therefore discharged from the A.I.F. on July 29th.
Lucas’s Staffs Appreciation of Brave Men, the original Avenue register, records his name as Norman Waterson.
