Robert Williamson Peart (SN 8026) born at Sebastopol, was a 40 year old teacher at Cohuna when he enlisted in Bendigo on August 12th 1915. He embarked aboard the Bakara on November 5th and sailed to Egypt. In June 1916 he moved to France to serve with the 18th Australian Army Service Corps until November 1917 when he was transferred to the Ordnance Corps. His service record carries no reference to illness, injury or discipline issues. After the war he returned to Australia aboard the Kildonian Castle, disembarked on May 7th 1919 and was discharged on June 29th.
