Biography

Robert Williamson Peart (SN 8026) born at Sebastopol, was a married 40 year old teacher at Cohuna when he enlisted in Bendigo on August 12th 1915. He embarked aboard the Bakara on November 5th and sailed to Egypt. In June 1916 he was moved to France where he served as a driver with the 18th Australian Army Service Corps. He served through the war without suffering significant harm and returned to Australia aboard the Kildonian Castle, disembarked on May 7th 1919 and was discharged on June 29th.
