Biography

Robert Williamson Peart was born in Sebastapol, VIC and was a Teacher when he enlisted in the Infantry Brigade Train 8 on 13 July 1915 at the age of 40. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A11 Ascanius on 10 November 1915. He was promoted to Lance Corporal with the 18th A.S.C. on 15 June 1916. According to his record he completed his tour without serious illness or injury, returning to Australia aboard the Keldonian Castle on 21 march 1919.
