Born in Ballarat, William Howard Humphreys was a single 18 year old watchmaker at the time of his enlistment on the 15th of August 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A41 Bakara on the 5th of November 1915.
William returned to Australia on the 23rd of June 1919 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 15th of August 1919.
