Biography

Richard William Wells (Major.) was born in Kensington, Victoria, was married to Grace and was employed as a clerk when he enlisted on August 18th 1914. He was 36 years of age. With the rank of Captain he joined the 6th Infantry Battalion but was soon promoted to Major. He died of wounds received at Gallipoli on the 11th of May 1915 and is buried in the Lancashire Landing Cemetery, Gallipoli.
