Herbert Kihang (name recorded on Embarkation Roll as Herbert KIANG) was born in Warrnambool, but enlisted from Ballarat on 23rd March 1915. He was 24 years old, single and employed as a gardener. He was sent to 24th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 650. Later he transferred to the 5th Pioneer Battalion. On 30th September 1917 he died of wounds received near Polygon Wood. His name is on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, Belgium.
