Charles Edward Hardman (SN 1205) was born in Wynyard, Tasmania, and enlisted in Melbourne on April 15th 1915. He was a 28 year old labourer, married to Barbara. He was assigned to the 22nd Infantry Battalion and left Australia in May aboard the Ulysses. He served on Gallipoli but was killed at Pozieres, France, on 5th August 1916. He has no known grave, and his name is recorded on the Australian Memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, France.
