Biography

William de Faye Lovett was a 26 year old, unmarried orchardist when he enlisted in Ballarat on 22nd July 1915. He had been born in Ballarat. He was sent to the 24th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 2931. He was promoted Lance Corporal, and later transferred to 52nd Infantry Battalion. He was killed during the fighting at Mouquet Farm, and his name is on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
