Biography

Thomas Albert Wise (SN 2855) born at Norong in northern Victoria, was a 29 year old married secondary teacher when he enlisted at Melbourne on August 6th 1915. He embarked aboard the Hymettus on September 12th and sailed to Egypt for service with the 8th Light Horse Regiment in the Middle East. In August 1917 he was transferred to the 68th Squadron Australian Flying Corps. He came through the war without significant harm and returned to Australia aboard the Port Sydney, disembarked at Melbourne on April 17th 1919 and was discharged on May 30th. He also enlisted to serve during World War 2 with service number V60409.
