Biography

Fay Robinson (SN 2221) was born in Creswick and was working as a labourer in Hamilton when he enlisted in Melbourne on July 2nd 1915. 39 years old and unmarried, he was assigned to the 22nd Infantry Battalion and embarked from Melbourne in September on board the Hororata. After two months training in Egypt, he arrived in France in late March 1916. He was appointed Lance Corporal in December and was wounded in action in early January and died of his wounds on January 4th 1917. He is buried in Heilly Station Cemetery, France.
