Norman Lindsay McIver enlisted in Ballarat, Victoria at the age of 18 on the 7th of July 1915. He had been born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single, and was employed as a Clerk. He volunteered and was stationed with the 14th Battalion with the Regimental number 4656. He was discharged and Returned to Australia on the 16th of October 1916.
Lucas’s Staffs Appreciation of Brave Men, the original Avenue register, records his name as Norman L. McIvor.
