Biography

John Stanley Gower (SN 9390) born at Castlemaine, was a 19 year old electrician when he enlisted in Ballarat on July 13th 1915. He embarked aboard the Ulysses on March 1st 1916 and served with the Australian Flying Corps as an aircraft mechanic. He spent some time in France, but his service was predominantly in England. He returned to Australia aboard the Port Denison, disembarked at Melbourne on November 13th 1919 and was discharged on January 5th 1920.
