Biography

Frederick Sebo was born in Ballarat, Victoria, was single and a Labourer when he enlisted in the 46th Battalion, 2nd Reinforcement on 10 July 1915 at the age of 38. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A14 Euripides on 4 April 1916. He embarked to join the British Expeditionary Force aboard the H.T. Thalyan from Alexandria on 1 October 1916 and joined the 12th Engineer Battalion. On 20 May 1917 he was hospitalised with a severe P.U.O. (pyrexia of unknown origin). He later transferred to from the Reading War Hospital to the 3rd Auxiliary Hospital before embarking on the Hospital Ship Western Australia bound for England. He returned to Australia for discharge on 27 August 1917.
