Frank Henry Drew (SN 3520) born in Ballarat and was a 25 year old tailor when he enlisted in Melbourne on July 15th 1915. Assigned to the 24th Battalion his unit embarked from Melbourne aboard the Afric on January 5th 1916 and sailed to Egypt. In April he was hospitalised with ‘eye trouble', then on May 10th he was admitted to hospital at Heliopolis with ‘heart trouble'. He was then assessed as unfit for active service due to ‘cardiac insufficiency, neurasthenia', and returned to Australia on the Clan MacGillivray, disembarking at Melbourne on August 14th. He was discharged on September 21st 1916.
