Biography

Born in Creswick, Victoria, Herman Harris was a single 26 year old grocer when he enlisted in Melbourne on the 25th of March 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board RMS Walwa on the 23rd of April 1916.
On November 16th 1916, he was wounded in action with a gunshot wound to his leg.
On the 3rd of October 1917, he was wounded on a second occasion with a gunshot wound to his face.
Herman returned to Australia on the 6th of September 1919 and was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period on the 29th of October 1919.
