Horace Lisle Rintel was born in Clunes but on 20th July 1915 he enlisted in Warragul. He was a teacher, single and aged 25. He was a Lieutenant in the 8th Infantry Battalion. On 20th September 1917 he was killed in action at Menin Road, and buried in the Tyne Cot Cemetery, Zonnebeke, Belgium.
