Roy Kent (SN 1490) born at Sebastopol, was a 19 year old dairyman when he enlisted in Ballarat on July 29th 1915. He embarked aboard the Ceramic on November 23rd and sailed to Egypt. In September 1916 he was moved on to France where he served mostly with the 1st Division Ammunition Column. It seems he came through the war without significant illness or injury and returned to Australia aboard the Suffolk. He disembarked at Melbourne on June 5th 1919 and was discharged on July 28th. He enlisted again (SN V11335) during World War 2.
