John Jordan was born in Allendale, but enlisted from Melbourne on 21st July 1915. He was a metropolitan fireman, aged 24 and single. He joined the 4th Field Artillery Brigade with Regimental No. 6825. During his service he was promoted Sergeant. He was killed in action on 1st September 1918, and buried in the Peronne Cemetery.
