George Victor Osborne was born in Haddon and enlisted from there on 22nd July 1915. He was married, 28 years old, and employed as a labourer. He was sent to the 14th Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 4984. He was killed in the fighting at Pozieres on 29th August 1916, and his name is recorded on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
