Albert Patrick Ahern (SN 7636) born in Melbourne, had served in the Boer War where he had suffered a fractured upper arm. He was a married 42 year old masseur when he enlisted in Melbourne on August 18th 1915. Assigned to the Medical Corps, he embarked from Adelaide aboard the Morea just a week later on nursing duty. He sailed to England but was found to be limited by rheumatism and general debility. He returned to Australia on nursing duty aboard the Euripides and was discharged as medically unfit on October 8th 1916.
