William Josiah Glasson was a 22 year old fruit grower at the time of his enlistment on the 22nd of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A40 Ceramic on the 23rd of November 1915.
He was appointed Acting Driver on the 19th of March 1916 and on the 16th of June 1917 was remustered to Gunner at his own request.
on July 2nd 1917 he was transferred to the 2nd Australian Division Trench Mortar and on the 20th of June 1919 was promoted to Temporary Corporal.
William returned to Australia on December 6th 1919 and was discharged on the 8th of March 1920 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
