Biography

Oscar Edward Bridson (SN 2126) from Sebastopol attended the Redan State School and was a 24-year-old, single miner at Berringa when he enlisted in the 21st Infantry Battalion on July 16th 1915. He embarked in September on the Hororata. In March 1917 he was wounded in action but recovered and returned to the battlefield. On June 2nd 1918 he was accidentally shot and killed by a nervous Australian sentry. He is buried at Ville-Sur-Ancre Cemetery, France and remembered on the honour board of the Redan State School. He was 26 years of age.
