Charles Henry Dixon (SN 4469) born at Benalla, was a 25 year old steward when he enlisted in Melbourne on October 18th 1915. He left Australia on the Themistocles on January 28th 1916 and sailed first to Egypt and then on to France in June. He served with the 5th Division Ammunition Column and was hospitalised with pneumonia in December 1916 and then with a sprained ankle in April 1917.
