Melville Charles James (Chaplain) was a married 38 year old clergyman when he was appointed chaplain ‘for voyage only’ on July 16th 1915. He embarked aboard the Kyarra on August 21st and reached Suez on September 29th. On October 20th he left Suez aboard the Kanowna and returned to Australia. He disembarked at Melbourne on November 22nd 1915 and his appointment was terminated.
