Biography

John Willmott was a labourer when he enlisted in Ballarat at 21 years of age on the 24th of July 1915. His unit embarked from Melbourne, Victoria, on board HMAT A64 Demosthenes on the 29th of December 1915.
He was gassed on two occasions, the first being in September of 1916 and the second on the 13th of April 1918.
He returned to Australia on the 24th of November 1919 and was discharged on the 7th of February 1920 due to the termination of his enlistment period.
