Frederick Preisig was born in Ballarat, and enlisted from there on 19th July 1915. He was a 28 years old, unmarried hairdresser. He was sent to the 21st Infantry Battalion, with Regimental No. 2032. On 31st July 1916 during the fighting at Pozieres he was killed in action. His name is on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
